Eastman Credit Union brings us to 91%!
This week Eastman Credit Union presented a $5000 donation to the Boone Street Market Capital campaign. Eastman joins a growing list of supporters (see the donors tab) and pushes us over 90% to our goal! Eastman CEO Olan Jones is a big supporter of farmers markets and sustainable agriculture. He is excited about the developments at our market and was pleased to get a fresh dozen eggs, a market t-shirt and one of our beautiful Tim Robert's market mugs at the check presentation!
Pictured here: Mary Brugh (market volunteer), Perry Phillips (vendor), Jeff Stratton (vendor), Heidi Ehle (market manager), Olan Jones (Eastman CEO), Karen Childress (she-who-happily accepts-checks for Boone Street Market), Kelly Wolfe (Mayor of Jonesborough), Debbie Kruse (market manager) and Beth Finnegan (market volunteer.) Town supporters Amber Crumley, Alicia Phelps and Melinda Copp were also there cheering us on! Thank you all, and

65%!
We have received checks for two new $5000 donations, plus a $500 commitment from the Tuesday Garden Club...THANK YOU! This brings us past the 65% mark!
The Washington County Commission Budget Committee will also be considering a major contribution to our project ($10,000) at their meeting March 12. Washington County residents: please ask your commissioner(s) to support Boone Street Market!
NOTE: If you've been following our progress, you may have noticed that our Building Fund total actually went down a little this week-- because I added our operational fundraising need to the progress bar on the blog page. Some of our capital donors have designated a portion of their contribution for operating expenses, so now you can see where both totals stands. Our official membership campaign will kick off in April to complete the operational fundraising goal.

Capital fund growing, growing!
We are now at 66% of our goal: $52,500! I have added a tab called "Donors and Sponsors" (above, right) to show a breakdown of our supporters. This list includes some pending requests, pending grants and in-kind contributions that are NOT included in our capital goal or total.
Thank you to those who have given! Please share this site with others who might want to follow our progress!

Capital fund at 1/2 way mark!
Our capital fund drive got its start in December with the $3500 donation from Farm Credit Services in (see previous post).
Our need is to raise $75,000 more.
This will cover the materials to renovate the building--almost all labor will be provided by the Town of Jonesborough.
We kicked off our major donor campaign in early February, and received our first contribution Feb 9th.
In 10 days, we have received checks or pledges for $38,000 from 9 individuals! Hooray!
THANK YOU to these wonderful folks who have not hesitated to lend us their support.
If you're reading this and interested in a tax-deductible contribution, with optional Farm to Table Ticket benefits, contact Karen at jbolocallygrown@gmail.com or 753-4744!
